How is it that we become proficient in a discipline? What does it look like for students to understand a discipline from the inside out, and how to transfer understanding to approach unfamiliar contexts?
Sam and Brendan will share their experiences from the Theory of Knowledge classroom and from IB Diploma History. They draw on the research into the explicit teaching of discipline-based metacognitive skills and understanding, and critical thinking as well as their own teaching strategies.
